Speech automation and recognition system for hospitals. The system of docflow automation in healthcare centers of the UK. Doctors don’t waste time filling medical records by hand. Instead, they dictate a text during an appointment and then load the audio into the system. This audio file is converted into a note in a medical record and a letter for a patient.
The system stores documents, converts audio into texts, prepares and prints out letters and reports.
Our initiative aimed to transform document automation within UK medical institutions, freeing doctors from manual data entry during patient encounters. Instead, practitioners now effortlessly dictate notes during or after appointments, which are then transcribed from audio to text, automatically generating patient records and correspondence.
Enhanced Performance and Impact
To maintain system reliability during extensive improvements, we implemented a strategy of frequent releases. Presently, the system is actively utilized by 45,000 healthcare professionals on a daily basis, with over 4,000,000 physician orders transcribed in 2015. This transformation not only resulted in a 35% annual growth in customer turnover but also led to an impressive 87% increase in product value each year. The collaborative efforts of our team have significantly elevated the efficiency and value of the document automation system for UK medical institutions.
Streamlined Development Process
We implemented frequent releases to swiftly address performance challenges, ensuring uninterrupted system functionality throughout extensive upgrades. Utilizing Python, C++, Objective C, Swift, .NET, MS SQL, SQLite, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, Windows Forms, and JavaScript for robust development and testing via Jira, Ranorex, VMWare, Fiddler Tool, and Log Monitor. Our agile methodology and technological framework have played a crucial role in this successful transformation.
Initially the architecture allowed 3 000 records a day. We optimized and took away dozens of unnecessary database requests, changed the Entity framework to our own solution, and improved business logic. It increased load up to 80 000 records a day. Since the cooperation began, the client’s annual turnover has grown up to 35%, the product cost increased by 87% during last year.
The system is used by 45 000 health workers daily. 4 000 000 medical disposals were transcribed during 2021.
